Kloth Cares Malaysia
In May 2019, Sunway Hotels & Resorts located in the Klang Valley began its collaboration with Kloth Cares Malaysia, a social enterprise that gives new life to used clothes and linen. As textile waste decompose in landfills, it releases methane, a harmful greenhouse gas that is a significant contributor to global warming. Dyes and chemicals present in fabric can leach into the soil, contaminating our rivers, waterways and possibly water used for our personal consumption. Kloth distributes the good-conditioned fabrics to bundle shops and those in need, while suitable and sizeable fabrics are cut up to make industrial cleaning cloth. This initiative also facilitates clothes recycling among employees, with a Kloth bin strategically placed near the staff entrance.

Operational Repurposing
Operationally, old towels are repurposed as cleaning cloths, and worn linen serves as protective covering during painting works.

Community Support
A portion of retired linen is also donated to flood victims upon request, extending the life of our textiles while supporting those in need.
