BIN IT WITH KLOTH
In May 2019, Sunway Hotels & Resorts located in the Klang Valley began its collaboration with Kloth Malaysia, a social enterprise that gives new life to used clothes and linen. As textile waste decompose in landfills, it releases methane, a harmful greenhouse gas that is a significant contributor to global warming. Dyes and chemicals present in fabric can leach into the soil, contaminating our rivers, waterways and possibly water used for our personal consumption. Kloth distributes the good-conditioned fabrics to bundle shops and those in need, while suitable and sizeable fabrics are cut up to make industrial cleaning cloth. The rest of the unwanted fabrics are reengineered to fuel cement kiln.
