How to get around like a local in Sunway City!

Hey there readers! I was just hanging around Sunway City over the weekend with Lisa who lives right in the heart of the city, and I was amazed at how easy it was to get around the area. Armed with only a Sunway Pals card, Lisa and I were off to an unforgettable day in Sunway City!

Here’re some tips to travel like a local without burning a hole in your pocket:

1. Get a Sunway Pals card

This is the best companion anyone travelling in Sunway City could ask for. As a Sunway Pals member, you will get to collect points from over 1000 merchants partnered with them and entitled to enjoy exclusive discounts and promotions! My favourite feature of this card has to be the cashless parking, where you can just top up your card, tap it at the parking entrance and voila, your parking payment is settled! No more waiting at auto pay machines and fumbling for small change, this card is all you need! The best part is, Lisa treated me to bubble milk tea using only the points in her card! Yums!

2. Get on the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT)
Connecting this sprawling city from above the roads, the BRT is one of Sunway City’s transportation pride and joy. With seven (7) stations scattered around the area, these electric, eco-friendly buses bring visitors travelling from Setia Jaya KTM station to the USJ7 station which is connected to the LRT. Because they travel on their very own dedicated lane, the buses are not hampered by regular traffic and available every 5 minutes. You can use your Touch N’ Go card for this service, or purchase tokens from the ticket machines available at each station.

3. Ride the Sunway Free Shuttle Bus Service
Did you know you could use public transportation for free in Sunway Integrated Resort City? Hop on the Sunway Free Shuttle Service, free-of-charge buses travelling every 25 minutes per round trip, stopping at some well-known landmarks such as Sunway Resort, Sunway Pyramid Mall, Sunway University and more. Definitely a welcome option if your legs are feeling a tad bit wobbly from all the walking. However, if walking is your thing, then this next tip is for you.

4. Stretch those leg muscles on the Canopy Walk
Spanning 360m that takes 6 minutes to cross, the Canopy Walk connects pedestrians from Sunway University College East Building and ends near the entrance of Sunway Pyramid Mall near Sunway Lagoon. It is open daily from 7am to 12midnight, but is closed on public holidays. Check out the view down below, as you can get a glimpse of the attractions inside Sunway Lagoon. It is also fitted with CCTV coverage, so you know it’s pretty safe to walk by yourself too.

5. Wonder around with the Ecowalk
Fancy a walk that is beneficial to your health and the environment? Then check out the 350m Ecowalk connecting Menara Sunway to Sunway Medical Centre. This covered walkway is fitted with solar panels on the roof for power generation as well, which lights it up at night. Its open from 7am to 7pm, and has 24-hour operated CCTVs as well as auxiliary personnel patrolling the grounds. Enjoy lush green scenery and fresh air as you take in the sights!
