Hey there readers!
Hope all is well. I just help plan the perfect wedding for my cousin. We have been very close since childhood and I was indeed thrilled that she wanted me to help with her big day! Also, as I was her maid of honour, I guess it was inevitable that I was a part of planning almost everything with her.
I have just realised that it’s not cheap to tie the knot. You have to shop for your dream wedding dress, plan the menu, put together the guest list, pick appropriate flowers and decoration, reserve a great venue, and so much more. It can be very daunting and overwhelming. But if planned well it can actually be gratifying!
After a bit of research, we found out that Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa is currently having a special promotion wedding package and as a result we saved up to MYR20K on the bill. Hence, I just wanted to share this experience with you especially for those planning their upcoming nuptials.
So off to Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa we went (twist our arms) with our wedding checklist, to take a look at the newly refurbished Grand Lagoon Ballroom, praying that it lived up to the expectations some photos left us with. Spoiler alert, it did not disappoint! It encompassed everything that we were looking for; intimate space for a medium size wedding, sheer grandeur, sophistication and a modern attitude, natural elements to work with, and all in a location not too inconvenient from our friends and family in KL and outstation --- it was perfect.
Just to give you an idea, grand crystal dome lights with smart lighting system runs through the ballroom, including the vast ballroom foyer - in addition to the natural light that shines through the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooks the lagoon and Sunway City.
Seriously it was a view like no other in Klang Valley for our guests to enjoy while they mingled around during pre-dinner cocktails. The pillarless Grand Lagoon Ballroom has a dramatic 30ft high ceiling and was a magnificent setting for the grand celebration.
The Grand Lagoon Ballroom has a grand built-in elevated stage that enhanced all the activities which includes the speeches, performances and toasting ceremony. The stage is also equipped with high definition LED screen backdrop, together with state-of-the-art technology and AV systems.
A selection of menus is available at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa for wedding celebration. From local to international flavours, a team of chefs were at hand to ensure that our sit-down menu, cocktail and canapés, was prepared with utmost precision and care using the freshest produce and ingredients for a feast fit for a King and Queen. There was also one complimentary barrel of beer and tidbits thrown in during the cocktail hour.
Once the formalities were over, the newly married couple chose The Villas, the hotel’s best kept secret for love and laughter amidst tranquillity and relaxation in true Asian style which by the way is given complimentary as one of the accommodation choices to bask in the honeymoon of their dreams. The Villas is filled with romantic forays like an inviting private plunge pool among other features, decorated with fresh rose petals, plus one bottle of complimentary champagne and fruit basket. In addition, blending unassumingly to the natural surroundings of The Villas is Mandara Spa for the ultimate pampering and rejuvenation post-wedding.
It's safe to say that this was really one of the best weddings I have ever been to. I truly enjoyed myself. But just from experience, organisation is key when planning your own wedding. You’ll have so many balls up in the air at once, you’ll need a way to keep track of everything. The most important thing to keep in mind: Try to have some fun! I do hope all this information will truly help some of you when planning your big day.
